I did it for real this time.

For as long as I can remember I have toyed with the idea of going blonde, like for real going blonde. I have done heavy highlights but never have I pulled out all the stops. So this week I took the plunge and went for it.

Holy @O#(@&#!

Not saying I hate it, but not saying I love it either. It just doesn’t “feel” like me. Maybe, I just need to get use it. I wake up in the mornings and forget about my gold locks then when I stumble into the bathroom and get a glimpse in the mirror I almost break my neck doing a double take, then I look at myself and ask “who are you?”

This blonde head of hair of mine is so bizarre to me. No doubt.

However, I am excited about these blonde possibilities… I am calling this summer the Blonde Summer of 2011 and I am going to live it up because baby this will most likely be the only blonde summer I will ever have.

Gone Fishin’

Hey there! Like my impromptu fishtail braid? Haven’t attempted a fishtail braid since my Barbie playing days and even then only my Barbie’s sported the hair-do. But I’ve seen some cute girls busting it out there in the bloggersphere, so as I sat here in my unmotivated mood at work I played-with-my-hair. Good use of time I think… ha… ha… not.

Blonde?

blonde-emma stone (1)
Emma did it. So has Lindsay Lohan- okay maybe that one is a bad example. But I have kind of been thinking of taking the plunge and going completely blonde. I have been just about every shade of brown and red out there but never a pure blonde.
As you can see I have gradually gone lighter the past few months.  Well I guess I started this blog after I started going lighter so I guess you wouldn't have seen. So here is a pic of me from January (prior to me starting this blog in March) and a recent photo- not that you don’t get to see my face on daily basis anyway.

What do you think? Should I go for it. I have an appointment Saturday.

No Words

Okay, well there were going to be no words, just pictures. But I scored my self a few free minutes between interviews. Can I just say I love interviewing people for jobs. I am actually one of those weirdos that love to go to job interviews myself, so I guess it makes sense that I also love being on the opposite side of it.

Don’t you kind of wish, or maybe you don’t, that the company you interviewed with would give you a report on how you did, what they liked, what they didn’t. Especially if you don’t get the job. I mean I personally would love to know why. I think this would be really beneficial to the growth of a person.

btw… you know when someone asks you what your most embarrassing moment is? Yeah, well I think I had that most embarrassing experience yesterday, while I was interviewing someone.  Maybe in a few months I will be ready to share. But for now the wounds are still too fresh.

Strut it.

Saturday was the 16th Annual Strut Your Mutt walk. And of course I had to take the pup.  He got to sniff a lot of dog bums, got his sniffed too, ate some grass, pee’d on EVERYTHING, found a baseball, got a tennis ball, met some friends that looked like him, got some chocolate covered dog treats, won the ugliest armadillo/anteater (not really sure what it was) stuffed animal, and went for a swim. All in all I like to think he had a great day.

It was early. Went with the greasy bed head look and no make-up.

There was some good butt sniffing going on, I mean look at this dog, he really got in there.

Trying to convince my mom that this would be a good look for her Labradoodle.

Thought these guys were pretty brave to dress up like giant stuffed animals.

Not everybody loves Bronx. This would be my moms doodle, Koda, trying to escape my dog and getting stuck.  Never mind that this dog is as tall as me when he stands and my little pup is 17lbs. Wimp.

BDIB: Prep School

[boots: Aldo; jeans & button down: F21; shirt: ? I dunno it’s really old; tie: husbands; bag: MICHE]

Can I just say I love these Bloggers Do It Better challenges.  This assignment was prep school and a requirement was you had to wear a tie or bow tie. And can I just say husbands tie has been bringing in the compliments. The reason I love these challenges is that it makes me think out the box and put together something I might not normally do and like with today’s challenge I  put together a look I really love and I think it kind of suits me. Husbands tie collection better watch out.

It’s not too late for you to put together you own look for this challenge. Link up isn’t until tomorrow. You can read all the details of this assignment here.

It's a Picnic

The sun is shining.
Brought the pup to work today. He makes everyone happy. It’s a good day.
It’s Friday.
and the pup is here.
and I ate Mexican food. Outside.
In the grass. On a Mexican blanket.
With my friends.
and then we ate Red Mango.
Happy Day.

p.s. started training for my 50 mile back ride! Go me! 3 miles down. 47 more to go. Did I mention the bike ride is in a month?

p.s.s. or is p.p.s? whatev. you get it. It’s Friday the 13th. In some cultures (don’t ask me which ones) Friday the 13th is good luck. I got married on a Friday the 13th. We also found a dead baby hammerhead shark on the beach we got married on as well… I am going to say that was a “good” omen too.

I want to be a bear part II

[shoes: Bakers; jeans: F21; shirt/belt: Gift; watch: Fossil; Bag: MICHE]

78 ‘nuff said.

[shoes: DSW; sunglasses: borrowed- thank you LynDee; bag: MICHE; everything else: F21]

I don’t feel like working today. The sun is shining and I want to lay in the grass and nap in the sunshine.
Then eat ice cream. Lots of ice cream.

Now-a-days ice cream is all I can think about.

Tomorrow it is supposed to be a whopping 78 degrees outside! I told the hubs that I was going to bust out the shorts. He got this strange bewildered look on his face and said “oh please don’t, those legs of yours are so white they are reflective!”

Then he proceeded to bust out the self-tanner, rip my pants off, and sprayed me down.
“Parts” of my legs are now tan-ish. Thanks husband.

Proud Mama

Yep, that cute little pup is my little Bronx. He made front page of the MICHE website this month and he made it in the catalog too… not front cover buuut still, he is in there. We will shoot for the cover next time, if we get invited back or if I can weasel him there again like I did with this shoot. He..he.

What a cutie he is. Ahh, now I am at work missing his stinky little butt. Do you ever wonder what our pets do at home when no one is there? I wonder all the time. The hubs thinks he just sleeps, but I like to think he is doing much more, like making himself some toast and watching animal planet or something.
Sorry for no outfit posts today, my outfit would bore you anyway. Sneakers, ripped up jeans, and t-shirt, not all that exciting. I try to limit my jeans/t-shirt posts. I wanted to be lazy today. I big weekend ahead. Wanna hear? Well too bad it’s my blog and I am going to tell you anyway.

Today after work, I get to help the hubs DJ a Mother’s Day dance at his parent’s church. And when I say help that just means sit there and hang out.

Then Saturday I am running in the Susan G. Koman Race For The Cure with all the great people I work with. And when I say running that really means I will be walking.  If you would like to make a donation to our team that would be super cool. You can do that by going here.

Then that night my work is joining the Huntsman Cancer Institute in sponsoring the “Pack the Park Pink” Bee’s baseball game. I am super excited about this.  The game is only $7 AND you get a free t-shirt. So I highly suggest if you are in Salt Lake City, you come out an help support the fight against cancer.  During half-time they will be showing our “Hope” videos, which will be really cool to see. Pinky Promise!

But if you can’t make it to the game you can always support by purchasing one of our super cute “Hope” bags, you can see me wearing one here, there is also a very stylish silver and yellow one as well, which is actually my favorite…  why haven’t I styled it yet? Hmmm….

I love working for MICHE bag! Sorry just wanted to get one more link in there. (I went a little link crazy didn’t I?)

And to top it all off Mother’s Day is Sunday! Everyone be good to your moms!!!
And if you’re a mom HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

I’m Hungry

[Everything but shoes and bag: F21, Shoes: DEB; Bag: MICHE]

Eating with braces is awful. Just awful. I think I mentioned that in a previous post but it really is.  There is no joy in eating food anymore. Zero, zilch, nada.

I’m hungry.

First things first…

I got braces today. See…

I had forgotten how awful it is to eat with a mouth full of metal.  But on the plus side of things I am now staying far far away from the candy drawer.  Braces = best diet plan ever.

Now on to my NYC trip…

It was a lot of fun, exhausting, a bit hectic, could barley walk by the end of it, but very cool.  This was a girls trip with just me, my mom, and my baby sis for my moms birthday (my other little sister is lame and didn’t go).

Being a self proclaimed Cali girl 100% I never really thought much of NYC and didn’t really have any expectations of the city but with that said I really ended up loving it.  I loved the diversity of it, the noise, the people, the smells, everything. Just loved it all.

My favorite thing though, above all else had to of been Grand Central Station. For some reason I felt at peace there.  There was something very calming and relaxing about it all. Weird? Maybe.  We went here on the day of my mom’s birthday, we got some cake from a little bakery on the corner, cozied up on the floor in the main hall of Grand Central Station, watched a bride and groom waltz, and ate birthday cake. It was lovely.

Here are some of my favorite photos from the trip. Enjoy!
