Channeling my inner Peruvian

If you read my outfit picture caption then you know that I got some of my items from Peru.  Now I am going to tell you something else…  I wore this outfit specifically so I could bring up my trip to Peru.  I will use every opportunity I can to talk/post pictures of my Peru trip and/or my wedding- just wait if you stick around long enough you will see.

If you ever get the opportunity to do some traveling alone I say DO IT! Traveling is really truly my passion- there is not one place I do not want to go. Seriously.

So far, I have not had the chance to really do the traveling I want to do but I did get Peru in.  Peru happened because I was kind of at my ropes end with some big things that were going on in my life and I needed to get away. No one could get away with me and I am not the type of person that waits around for other people in order for me to do something so…. I went solo.

And it was seriously the best decision I have ever made. There is nothing like facing your fears and doing something big on your own. The confidence and self-love you get from doing this is immeasurable and not only that you really learn sooo much about yourself and what you are capable of. The people I met and the friends I made the stories I heard. It was the best month of my life.

Now for some pictures! If want to see more then what is posted here just click on the link.

Like a Jedi...

For real. No. Not really. But we can pretend right? Mmmmkay? Ok. Thanks for playing along.

So here is the thing about me. I am a complete 100% nudist.  And as the day slowly progresses on I remove more and more articles of clothing. First goes the bra on the rare occasion I wear one (hate ‘em) I am the master of secretly removing the bra at work WHILE never leaving my desk. Told ya. Jedi. All the way.  Then goes the belt, next comes any and all jewelry, then the shoes and sometimes even the tights. I’ve gone commando for the last 10 years so that is never an issue. TMI? … I am sure you will get over it.

Today was one of those days. Freedom for the tatas!

Now, I am sure all my coworkers are concerned.

[2] Rare things...

Here are two very rare things, a weekend outfit post and my hair up. Don't get used to it.

I needed some inspiration in getting dressed today so I picked out the earrings first and went from there. On another note, my baby sis wanted to get in on the outfit post action, check her out below, ain't she just the cutest? A complete natural in front of the camera- I need to be taking posing lessons from her.

A hug for your head...

That hat is seriously the best thing ever, it feels like a hug for your head and sometimes you know, your head needs a hug and today was on of those days- if I am being honest it was one of those weeks.

To make up for  the mostly crummy week I will be trying my hand at making these delicious balls of joy tonight:

Red Velvet Cake Balls.... ooooh baby!

If you would like to make some too you can find the recipe here at the most definitely lovely Bakerella Blog.

I'll let you know how it goes. Wish me luck!

Happy Friday Everyone!

The Great Lake of Salt

What a fun day yesterday was! The weather was perfect and we were out on location for a photoshoot for our upcoming catalog and to top it all off, my pup got to come play with me at work. If you didn't know he is quite the model. :)

Here are some of my favorite shots of the day:

Brace Face

Guess what y'all.  I am getting braces. For the 2nd time! I've been wanting them again so I am excited for straight teeth but not really excited to showcase a mouth full of metal. Oh well... ceste' la vie.

Lesson learned kiddos. WEAR YOUR RETAINER! Should have done that the first go around when my momma was paying but you know what- the thing just really started to gross me out so I boiled it and after that it well just didn't fit right anymore..... and I was living in LA at the time...... and my ortho was back home..... so I just didn't bother getting a new one.... excuses, excuses, excuses. I know.

May 3rd is D day.

Oh by the way Bre over at 27b left me the cutest comment yesterday... she called my outfit "undone chic" and I fell in love with that.  Thanks Bre!

Weekends

So here is the deal with weekends.... if I can help it I DO NOT get dressed, do my hair OR put make-up on. So don't count on any weekend outfit posts.

It's been a crazy Monday buuut I LOVE what I do.

Uh, Ride'Em Cowboy?

Laurie and I went on a little adventure today and found this amazing spot right behind our office building. Looks like we are in the middle of nowhere when we're really not. I have a feeling you will be seeing this setting again.

I felt a little self-conscious in this outfit today- I have never worn these boots with bare legs before and I felt like I looked like I had two toothpicks for legs. But I got over it.

Are you guys as happy as I am about it being Friday? Hope you have a fab weekend and that wherever you are there will be some sunshine for you to enjoy.

Wide to skinnnnny....

So you see those skinny jeans I am wearing? Guess what? They use to be WIDE jeans! Yep, true story. I have pictures to prove it.

See. Toldyaso. Although they were cute wide, I must have grown since the last time I wore them (a few years ago) and now they are a bit too short to wear with any type of shoe. Nothing worse then wide legged floods if you ask me.

So now you are amazed right? Well hear comes the kicker... I did these ALL BY MYSELF! And I suck at sewing. Promise. Lizzy over at Cotton&Curls posted this very easy to follow tutorial on how to do this. IT IS SOOO EASY! She has lots of really easy "refashions" as she calls them. I highly recommend you check her out.

Here are the super easy instructions:
1. Put your wide leg jeans inside out
2. Place a pair of skinny jeans you like on top and out line the shape
3. Pin so your pants don't move around
4. Sew on the line you made
5. Cut off the extra fabric (I didn't do this bc I couldn't make the commitment to actually cut my pants)
6. Put them on and TAAAA-DAAAAA SKINNY JEANS!
