S/S 2011 Fashion Show
I was pretty much M.I.A from friends and family all last fall and winter due to planning our company’s Annual Distributor Conference that was held in January. This included putting together a product showcase- displaying everything we have been working on, a silent auction, and our spring/summer/fall/winter fashion show. I thrive on this type of craziness. Conference time is my favorite time of year- so no promises that I might not disappear on you again this fall/winter….
The show ended up being a huge success and I am so happy that I finally get to share a little piece of it with you. The other half of this showing fall/winter will be posted later in the year.

It’s True
It’s true. My almost week long absence from my blog has been intentional. I have been avoiding you.
The reason? I am ashamed.
Why am I ashamed? Well… you know that… ahem…. bike ride I was telling you about here- that I was to do this past Saturday- well I totally and shamefully bailed on it.
And this photo of my dear friend Laurie (who kicked but on ride btw- 40 miles in 3 hours! You go girl) standing next to this sign that some supportive co-workers made- with my name on it just dug the guilt in deeper.
I suck. I know. Next year.
Why didn’t I do the ride? Ready for the excuses….
Well for one it was this little guy’s birthday party- cue picture of adorable nephew:
and c’mon who wouldn’t choose hanging out with this handsome little chubster and eating birthday cake over almost dying in a 40 mile bike ride that you were so not prepared for? I am glad you see my point.
There are other excuses but I won’t bore them with you (can we just say plain laziness).
And if you are wondering why my knees are bright red in all the photos- oh wait- you didn’t notice? Oh well- that is all you will probably see now. Anyway, it’s from me crawling around the floor of our sample room playing (organizing) in all our new spring and summer samples. Love my job!

Rock’n’Roll
I’ll admit it I feel kind of cool in my outfit today… a bit rock’n’roll-ish if you will. Do you like how I fashioned a necklace into a hip chain? I think these were cool in the late 90’s or something- but I think it’s time for a comeback don’t ya think?
And onto the most important news of the day….
My super adorable- couldn’t be cuter nephew enters the terrible twos today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE MAN! Give your mom hell!

Neutrals meet Neon
Yay! It’s a another Bloggers Do It Better challenge. When I first read about the challenge I had no clue as to what I was going to wear- I almost didn’t even participate. I wasn’t really sure what qualified as a neon color to be honest- I had to consult my post-it-note collection.
When I think neon I think scary 80’s MC Hammer pants- I had a traumatizing moment as a child wearing such pants. But when I started thinking of neon as just bright vibrant color and not calling it “neon” the challenge became much easier.
Just as I was confused with what qualified as a neon… I also wasn’t sure what qualifies as a neutral- hence the two different looks. In my opinion navy counts as a neutral but for the nay-sayers I opted to do a 2nd look with a more “traditional” neutral.
Enjoy.

I’m going to die on Saturday and Oh I need your $$$ too.
So my work is a sponsor of the Huntsman 140 bike ride and of course a few months ago I thought it would be great thing to sign up for (really, I just wanted the cute bike jersey that our graphic designers made) and also my husband is into biking and so what a fun thing for us to do together, right? And then there is the whole charity aspect of it too.
But now that the ride is just 4 days away, panic has set in. I am going to die. I am only doing the 40 mile stretch of the ride and not the whole 140 but really I.am.going.to.die. I have not trained at all whatsoever for this and I am not a fit person.
Yeah, your right. I don’t know what I was thinking either.
But to the point. I need your money. Not lots of it, so don’t worry. We only need to raise $70. That’s not too much to ask is it? 14 people to donate $5 each? So if you think you have some spare change that you can donate to the Huntsman Cancer Institute to help in the fight against cancer then please click on this link it would be MUCH appreciated.
Hope to see you Monday! I leave you with this amazing “Hugs for Hope” video that our company made.

Epic
Just had to share this amazing video from the Dirty Dash a couple Saturday's ago. It’s epic.
I can’t wait for next years!!!! I highly recommend if they have one of these in your area you should definitely do it! Aaaand to top it off it’s for a good cause too! Proceeds go to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the YMCA, other local charities. It’s good fun.

MICHE Pink Day
Remember I few weeks back when I was telling you about all that charity type stuff I was doing that one weekend with my work? No? That’s okay you can go here to refresh your memory.
Here are some “visual” stuff from that weekend….
It started with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure run……
And it ended with the “Pack the Park Pink” Bees baseball game….
Stay tuned because this Saturday I will be biking 40 miles for the Huntsman Cancer Institute. More on that later.

Drrrrrty Dash’n
Seriously. No. SERIOUSLY. This has got to be one of the most fun things I have ever done. You have no idea the craziness that transpired. Did the race barefoot, lost my shoes a mile into it, won a costume contest, pulled some serious muscles, peed my pants, took a death defying freezing cold shower, and 2 days later I still can’t walk right and I am still finding mud in places. SO MUCH FREAKING FUN!
We rocked it! I love these girls.
And to think none of the real good stuff made it on camera. Sad.
